Terms of Service
Draft for provider review. Values in [brackets] are pending the owner: legal entity, registered address, country, support address and governing law. The text about credits, delivery and refunds is shared with the pricing page and must stay identical there.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COUNTRY] ("we"), and they cover purchases made on runopass.com and use of the scanning tool. The payment is processed by our payment provider as the merchant of record; their receipt is the proof of your purchase. We never see or store your card details.
2. The service
runopass runs automated checks on a website you enter and emails you a report: broken links and redirects, basic page speed and weight, accessibility problems, security headers and certificate expiry, and uptime checks on demand. The report is produced by software. No one reviews it by hand before it is sent.
The checks are a best effort. They can miss a problem, and a clean report is not a guarantee that a site is secure, accessible or free of errors. You decide what to fix.
3. Who may buy
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract where you live. If you buy for a company, you confirm you may bind it. We may refuse or cancel an order where the law requires it or where we believe it was made fraudulently.
4. Credits
Credits are usage credits for this tool only. They have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money, transferred or given to another person, and they expire 12 months after purchase.
Credits expire 12 months after the date they were bought. The expiry date is shown in your account and in the receipt the payment provider emails you.
Credits are spent when a scan starts: 10 for a basic scan, 40 for a full scan and 1 for an uptime check, as shown on the pricing page. A scan that fails on our side because of an error does not spend credits.
5. Plans and renewal
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time and keep the plan until the end of the paid period. We email you before each renewal, and the checkout shows the price, the period and the renewal date.
The checkout shows the price, the billing period and the renewal date before you pay, and there is no trial that turns into a charge without saying so. We email you before a renewal; for the weekly plan that reminder arrives at least 24 hours before the charge. Cancelling stops the next charge and does not refund the period you are in. If a renewal payment fails, scheduled scans stop until it is settled.
6. Sites you may scan
Before a site's first deep scan we verify that you control it, with a DNS record or a meta tag on the site. The tool is never pointed at a site you do not own.
Only scan a site you own or are authorised in writing to test. Do not use the tool to probe, overload or attack anyone else's site, to get around a login or paywall, or to collect personal data. We may throttle, pause or close an account that does, and we will say why.
7. Delivery and reports
The scan runs automatically and the report is emailed to you; no one writes it by hand. Credits are added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed, and you only ever scan sites you enter yourself.
Reports are kept in your account and emailed to the address you paid with. If a report does not arrive, write to [email protected] with the order number and we will resend it or refund the scan's credits.
8. Refunds
Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Credits that have been spent on scans are not refundable, because the scan has already run. A plan's current period is not refunded when you cancel; cancelling stops the next charge. Where the law gives you a stronger right, it applies.
The Refund Policy is part of these terms. Where you have a statutory right to withdraw, it applies as the law provides and is not limited by anything here.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the tool running but do not promise uninterrupted service. Checks can change as browsers and standards change. Prices of future purchases can change; a purchase already made is charged at the price shown at the provider's checkout. If we stop offering a plan, existing paid periods are honoured or refunded pro rata.
10. Liability
We are liable for what the law requires and for the amount you paid for the affected package in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost income or lost opportunity.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Contact and complaints
Write to [email protected]. Write to the support address on the Contact page and we answer from there. We answer complaints within a reasonable time and tell you what we found.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW / COUNTRY], and disputes go to its courts. Mandatory consumer protections where you live still apply.
